Derby Days 5K Turf Run

Saturday, August 2, 2008, 9:30 a.m.

Canterbury Park, 1100 Canterbury Road, Shakopee, MN 55379

 

Race Info:       Race like a thoroughbred!  This 5K starts and ends on the Canterbury Park turf racetrack.  Runners burst from the horse starting gate and run on grass, both on the (6-inch high) turf racetrack and on a cross-country style course outside the track.  The finish line is at the horse race finish line on the turf track in front of the grandstand.  Post race awards will be presented, and photos will be taken in the Winner’s Circle.  This is a fun, unique course (90% grass) - great T-shirts - costume contest.  In the event of heavy rain, runners will not be allowed on the turf horse track.

 

Entry Fee:       $15 pre-registration fee (thru July 24, 2008), $20 thereafter.  Race day registrations will be accepted from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. at Canterbury Park.  All entry fees are non-refundable.

T-SHIRTS:       Will be provided on race day for all runners registered by the July 24, 2008 deadline. 
T-shirts will be mailed to late and race-day entrants.

 

Awards:          Medals will be awarded to 1st through 3rd place male and female finishers in each age group:                                                       

                                                      14 & Under,    15-19,    20-29,    30-39,    40-49,    50-59,    60 & over

 

                       Prizes will be awarded to the runners sporting the best horse racing related costumes.
